Our day on the beach

Before we even got to Brazil Renato's friend Edwardo asked if he could take us on a 4x4 tour of Fortaleza's beaches. Of course! Edwardo is the president of a company and was nice enough to leave work to take us. We left the boys at the condo with their uncles and Teresa. It would be a bit too bumpy for them. I guess I was expecting something like a buggy, but we went in his truck that he drives everyday. They let a bunch of air out of the tires and onto the beach we went. A little surprising, but COOL!
This place is so amazing. I took over 100 pictures on this 40 mile drive. Most of them from the window of the vehicle going about 40 miles an hour! Edwardo said we didn't have time to see all of them because we got a late start, and we had a get together later. He told us that the other side it the prettier side. How can it get prettier? Next time! Yes next time.
Above: That is a shack. Someone lives there. We could see through the walls. If you're going to be poor, why not do it on the beach! Below: There were parts of the beach where we had to cross water. This spot took a while. We got out and checked the sand. As soon as you stepped on it, it would suck you in. Not a good idea in a truck. Edwardo found a safe area and told me to take pictures. When I first stepped in, it came up to my chins. By the time I got across in a very quick manner, my shorts were drenched. We made it though both ways!
When driving on the beach with tourists, stop for crabs and take pictures. Edwardo tried to pick it up and cut his finger open. It is really cute though.
My cute toes being wrapped in soft warm beautiful sand. They miss this very much!
Look 5 days straight together and we still like each other! I loved this day, I got some wonderful quality time with my husband. In the background of the bottom picture that is where we were staying.
KITE SURFING!!!!!
I wish all of Renato's friends could come live in Utah. They are awesome. Edwardo is quite adventurous and does kite surfing for fun. Honestly regular surfing scares the crap out of me let alone being strapped to a huge kite that could do some damage with the body attached at the bottom. So here are the steps. First unload everything. Above is the harness that attaches the body to the kite.
Then pump air into the kite.

Attach the harness. Renato was going to try but the weather wasn't very ideal for a first timer.

It was amazing how well Edwardo could control this thing. Now that it is all hooked up take a long walk up the beach.

And away he goes. He went really far really fast. The wind wasn't strong enough and the waves were too wild. Only one pass for our entertainment. I still am in awe!

And this is batman! Thank you Edwardo for such a wonderful day.
